Materials
We offer a variety of durable hardwoods, much obtained locally with the exception of Mahogany. Most of our woods are purchased green by us, and then we begin the process by air seasoning them prior to kiln drying to ensure supreme stability.
Cherry
is a beautiful and dense hardwood. The heartwood, or very center of the tree, is well known for its rich red color which only deepens with age.
Oak
is an extremely durable light-colored hardwood that offers a dramatic take on deep grain markings.
Walnut
is a deeply colored wood and a prized choice for sturdy, handmade furnishings. It has tight-grain markings and often interesting figure which lends itself to a very unique finish.
Mahogany
has a satin ribbon grain and can be either a reddish-brown or a brownish tone. It is a favorite for 18th century furniture styles.
