Care Instructions

All of our furniture is made to last for generations. That is why we use a lacquer finish on all of our pieces, giving them a satiny and sophisticated look…which actually requires very little maintenance. It is also water resistant.
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For easy clean up of our furniture, use a mild mixture of dishwashing liquid and water. This works best on spills, stains and dirt. Our furniture is not designed to be polished to a high gloss, therefore many commercial furniture applications can damage the lacquer finish. Do not apply polish, oil or wax to the finish. Quite often, the only way to repair finish damage is to completely strip and refinish the piece.

When using placemats or tablecloths, we recommend using a cloth or felt-backed product. The use of plastic backing could result in damage to the lacquer finish.
Please use caution when placing a hot dish or pan on your furniture, always use a trivet designed for that purpose. Placing an item too hot to touch directly on your furniture could result in damage.
Following these guidelines will ensure a long and beautiful life to your furniture and its finish. However, we do not recommend placing any of our pieces in any area where they will be directly exposed to strong sunlight or the elements. We now offer as an option, an exterior lacquer finish, which provides additional protection for our porch furniture. However, please don’t place these out in the weather but use them in a covered area or screen porch.
